THE "SAVVY" IN SAVVY PRODUCTIONS

My name is Savannah Sclafani, and I'm a 4'11.5", 18 year old photographer. With an insulin pump clipped to my belt and a DSLR in my hands, I set out to turn the mundane into the memorable. Nothing excites me more than spontaneity and adventure. 

 

Savvy comes from the Latin word "sapere" which means "to know or understand." Photography as a visual art is inherently an art of observation. Everything from time of day to shutter speed (measured in fractions of a second) nearly forces a photographer to pay more attention to the world around them. This increased awareness of time and space more than likely helps each photographer better understand the people and places they see and capture along the way.

 

But don't get me wrong. There's also value in the things we don't understand. After all, without its uncertainty would I still be questioning the ending of Inception?

From pineapples to pop-up shops (check out my portraits to catch the references), I'm a photographer who's always ready to capture memories, both big and small. Because regardless of whether we know which of those will be the most important in our lives, even the smallest ones hold the potential to make us smile.
